Hello, I am Rahul. I am currently studying in the 12th standard. Well in studies since childhood and a top performer throughout, my parents and relatives suggested me to start preparing for IIT to become a successful engineer. Clueless of what I wanted to become, I started preparing for IIT in the 11th standard. However, even after lots of preparation, I could not manage to score well in my tests and exams. I went blank with respect to what I am doing, why am I doing. To my good fortune, I came across the UPCLASS career assessment which was like an eye opener for me. I got more clarity on myself, about my own likes and dislikes. The results helped me improve my relationship not just with myself but also my friends and family around. I got to know that my interests lied in creative fields like photography and fashion designing and that engineering was not my cup of tea. After seeing the results, I felt closer to the personality the career assessment test laid out for me and felt more confident on my belief about myself. To gain further clarity, I booked my sessions with UPCLASS. Since then I have been dedicatedly following these sessions and I feel I am in a much better position now. Now, I can focus on my interests and work towards them to build my bright future.
Hi, I am Priya, currently studying in class 10th. I am one of the many students who does not know what to do ahead in life and which field to build my career in. My dream careers have always fluctuated since childhood. When I was a kid, I wanted to become a doctor. However, after studying biology, I did not feel the same anymore. After that I thought of becoming an astronomer, but I was unsure whether I will be able to work that hard or not. One of my school friends, Ashwini, told me about the career assessment tests offered by UPCLASS. I took that to assess my personality, IQ, EQ and understand my hidden skills, passion, and behaviour. I got to know about my strengths and my weaknesses. I discovered my interests and hobbies based upon which I could undertake a passive career. The UPCLASS career assessment suggested me the career which I can pursue passively and to my surprise the results were totally aligned with what I always felt like doing. I have always been fond of writing but never took it seriously before or never thought about it as a career option. However, after taking the UPCLASS assessment, and receiving passive career suggestions such as content writer and blogger, I have started writing seriously. So I recently got an opportunity to work with UPCLASS, though the duration was short but i concur with the fact that it was truly an enriching experience. Since it was a startup, i got to learn and handle multiple responsibilities. I was given the work to proofread company's content to be posted on various social media platforms and handle multiple phonecalls. Apart from this, i was also responsible for creating social media posts, write blogs and take part in various marketing strategies. Besides improving my writing and editing skills it also helped me to utilize the creative part of my brain and come up with unique and different ideas. The main point to note here is that though your work included creativity it may get tedious after some time, this is where the need for improvement comes into picture. The major part of my learning was time management, managing time while giving a exam and doing a project are two different things. It is highly useful and is an art one needs to excel in. I also understood the importance of each and every member working and how their actions can really affect the working of an organization as a whole. One of the amazing thing was that working under the guidance of such great mentors, they were always there to help and support and at the same time getting a chance to stand out independently and get my ideas and suggestions welcomed and appreciated was a cherry on the top. As an introvert, it really helped me to boost up my confidence level and brush up my communication skills. The one thing I will cherish forever is that it taught me to start believing in myself. There is nothing like perfectionism or imperfections, it is all perceptions. I was always afraid of getting my feet wet and the fear of not knowing how to do something new was a troublesome factor for me. But now I can make peace with the fact that there is always a scope for learning something new and improving the already existing skills. I will always be forever grateful.
Hi, I am Himani Khajuria. Before the COVID-19 outbreak changed the entire working scenario, I used to counsel students offline, calling them to my clinics, spending time with them and talking to them to understand the issues they face. For a while I was tensed about how to continue with my counselling business without meeting and interacting in person. I was afraid to lose my clients and was more afraid for the students who were in the middle of their counselling sessions as stopping with those sessions would negatively impact them and bring them back to square one. This is when one of my friends told me about UPCLASS and how in such disruptive times the organisation was trying to help small counsellors like me to take our businesses online. Hi, I am Minakshi Sharma, a career counsellor for students. I have been counselling students across India for over 10 years now, helping students choose the right career paths by discovering themselves and their hobbies. I am a very organised kind of person and after the coronavirus outbreak, I did not know to how to take my business online in an organised manner. After reading up on the internet and consulting many people who could help, I realised it was a huge task with a huge investment. However, because of the internet surfing, I came across UPCLASS. UPCLASS was providing a platform for counsellors like us to set up their businesses online. I went on their website to read up more about their initiative and realised that it was perfect for me.
